I have maintained a home page of some sort ever since I first got on the Internet in 1996. I've got some ribbing over it because some folks think it's a little self-absorbed. It's actually a great way to maintain contact with friends, make new friends, help employers find out more about you, and reference your hobbies and interests.

I think everyone should have a website of their own. Facebook, MySpace and others are nice, but you have do not have the full control over your content. Your own website shows your own creativity and tastes. It also allows you to generate income from your interest if you place ads on your website.

My standard websites have more than enough functionality. The cost for these are very reasonable.
