My web design is far different from the common consulting firm you may have talked to. I have the ability to tailor your design to any budget. You can have a standard website created and running for $250! Standard is far from ordinary and custom can go as far as you would like. If you have never been part of a website's development, my process is very simple to understand. We can start with simple requirements, then work towards the full needs. If you need a website today, that is entirely possible.

What is your standard web design?

A standard web design is a free theme(many to choose from), a front page, a contact page, and 2 hours of instruction to teach you how to add your own content. If you have a logo, it can be added also. Highly customized themes are done on an hourly basis.

If you get a standard web design, then decide later to add more, the system allows for efficient and inexpensive modification. "Modules" are pre-coded functions for websites that allow me to build on the basic standard web design. As you need more functions, I can draw from thousands of modules to build to your specifications

How much for extra functionality?

Standard Rate - $30/hr

I currently charge $30/hr. With my systems, quite a bit can be done in an hour. For example, if you need the capability to add any type of form, have the form data processed to e-mail address and stored online in an accessable database, that can be done within an hour.

E-Commerce Solutions

E-commerce is one of the more expensive functions to add, but still affordable. The basic system can be set up for an additonal $100, but the complexity and number of products determines the price of the setup.

I can also train you to maintain and add your own products, bringing the long-term costs down dramatically. You can modify your products at will. The content is in a database that you can import/export from other computer programs.

Keep in mind that I only provide the capabilities to sell online with the standard built-in search engine capabilities. I do not care what you sell and I do not take an active part in promoting your products, for the exception of providing you an excellent website to sell your products. Many common payment and shipping systems are available.

If you are new to E-Commerce, I highly suggest that you research the business aspects. Make sure that your investment in your website is within the risks you are willing to take for your business.

Mailing Lists

I have systems that allow you to manage your mailing lists. You can import any present list and allow your website to manange suscribers automatically. The system allows users to opt-in and opt-out at will. This is a really nice system for any organization wishing to send coupons or newsletters.

Styles & Themes

My style is utilitarian in nature. Most web vistors come to your website for one reason - information. You want to inform people about your products and services and you want your website to reflect the professionalism that your business represents.

You do not need a confusing "original" layout that has never been used before. The layout is much like reading a book or newspaper. When you pick up a publication, you expect certain things to remain constant. With a book, you expect a table of content somewhere near the front and an index near the back. You expect an easy to read listing of the chapters. You expect a newspaper to have important headliners at the front, a sports section, local section, business section, classifieds, etc.

Websites are much the same. Look at your favorites. There are graphics and styles that make them unique, yet they do not alienate you with a strange configuration. Websites have the capabilities to do any layout, but that doesn't mean that they should.

The most common approach that I have is to ask the client what website is similar to what they want. This doesn't mean I will copy that website. I will simply take the basic layout into account as we proceed with your unique design.

Support

I offer support Monday-Friday, 8 am to 4 pm. If a problem is caused by a design flaw for services that were paid for, I warranty my work for 90 days from payment. If the support is to add functionality or out of warranty period updates, the cost is $30/hr.

If you feel you need 24 hour support, I urge you to evaluate your needs. Most websites rarely require additional support for the exception of adding new functionality. E-commerce websites should consider their loss of income risks as compared to the cost of 24 hour support.

Your web server is provided from an outside provider. They do offer 24 hour support in respect to the web server remaining operational. I will direct you to their support technicians if needed.

Submit a quote request to find out more about the functions you may require. My only current limitation is high end websites utilizing Flash. My systems can do them, but I am not a high-end graphic artist. I create graphics for many uses, but high end Flash is not my expertise. If you have a Flash developer you would like me to work with, I would be more than happy to work with them.

Not sure what "Flash" is? If you've been to high end product websites with detailed dynamic art that seems as though it is part of the page, most likely that was Flash. Photographers, auto companies, some art websites, etc. will use this to showcase their artistic abilities. Many people think that they want this for their small business, but once they realize the high costs and low actual benefits, they change their mind. We can create a very appealing website with limited or no use of this high-end artwork.

There are many thousands of add-ons available. The majority of them require very little expense to install. After an initial assessment, I will let you know what is available to suit your needs in the most affordable ways.
